The Battle of Lexington...where it all began.  This is when the infamous Paul Revere, and a couple other brave Patriots, made their midnight ride to warn the people around Lexington that the British were indeed coming.  Try out this natural processed, single farm coffee.  It will light up your day, like the hearts of Patriots that night, and the church tower they lit up to signal to prepare for battle!

Ethiopia...the birthplace of coffee.  Lemme tell you a story.  Back in the 9th century, Kaldi, a goat farmer had a bunch of goats.  Kaldi couldn’t figure out why his goats refused to sleep and why they were always so wound up.  Then they got caught red hooved eating the cherries of a shrub.  The coffee shrub.  Kaldi takes this info to the monks.  The monks start using these seeds to stay awake for evening prayer.  Bam! Coffee is a thing!  So the legend goes...

This batch of the Lexington is from the Guji region which is in southern Ethiopia.  It is a single farm project, which helps develop relationships between farmer, exporters, importers, etc.  It also aids in better prices paid to the farmer, as well as more traceability in the coffee itself.

Mr. Girum Girma owns 12 hectares of coffee land in the Oromia Regional State, Guji Zone, Urga District. His farm is located near the small town of Haro Wachu. Most of his income is derived from his coffee farm, although he also grows vegetables and Enset (false banana) in his backyard garden for daily consumption. A portion of his garden is used for farming, but the bulk of his produce comes from his coffee plantation.

Mr. Girum’s farm is one of the largest in the district by land size. He is the father of nine children, and his entire family works full-time on the farm. While he ensures that most of his children attend school, they assist on the farm after school, which typically consists of a half-day session.

Elevation ranges from 1500 to 2000 meters above sea level (masl) and variety is entirely Ethiopian Heirloom.

Tasting notes: dried jasmine, mild fresh stone fruit and praline, mild balanced acidity and good sweetness
